As you might know if you've checked the Skype, I'm making more hostile mobs for our server, mainly for my Invasion event. So far, I've technically made 7 mobs by modifying names, descriptions, and factions (Meaning they're still utilizing the same sprites as their original template, but there's somewhat of a reason for that), and I've created one by almost completely overhauling an existing mob's code, adding a few more lines, and then creating sprites for it by extensively modifying the template used (With help from Wheatly for the finishing touches on the parts that I didn't trust myself to be able to design properly.).
However, I'd like for this faction to have some more unique units rather than simply taking units that already have sprites, changing their name, description, and faction, then simply using those. I already have a few ideas from myself and prior suggestions, but I'm asking for your own suggestions for what you'd like to see. If I think it would fit in, I'll fire up Dream Maker and try to lay out the basis of the code, and if I can, attempt to establish the foundations of the mob's sprite, then likely hand it off to someone with actual skills at making sprites (Like Wheatly.).
Once suggestions start coming in, I'll make a second post with the complete list of mobs selected for implementation/completed (Before you write up a post saying I'm restricted to only making lists of 5 items maximum for suggestions, AI, this list would be for suggestions I'm working on coming into existence.). Until then, here's my current list of things I'm either considering, am working on, or have completed:
1. Corporate Alliance Mechanized Enforcers (Basically a stand-in for the B2 Battle Droid) [More or less complete, aside from a few balancing issues I'm looking into]
2. B1 Battle Droid stand-in (Trying to think of another name from my novels for it) [Definitely want this, coding is already mostly in place from the Enforcer, and I could have a lot of fun with this mob, but I have no clue how to start the sprite]
3. Dwarf Spider Droids (More stuff from Star Wars, except these are the boss enemies you run into from time to time in Republic Commando, although they're from the films)
4. Power Armored soldiers (Well, I think you would be able to tell which group of armor-clad forces I'd like to use as a base for unique units for an internal group from the new faction. No, the base is not Halo.) [This is in the back of my mind, but I'd still like to implement it. However, I'll hold off on this until after the first few invasion events, for IC reasons, so the community has become familiar with the other units first, and also because this group would be far tougher and more powerful than the rank-and-file human infantry previously encountered. Not to mention, the internal group was the one to originally create the designs for the robotic forces, and the original versions are more resilient and useful than the regular droids encountered, so these soldiers would have support, to boot]
5. Mechanized Crusaders (The precursor to the Enforcers, but the term "Precursor" is only accurate in terms of original development. These are only used by the internal group, and are FAR more deadly than an Enforcer, or an actual soldier, even the elite ones mentioned above. The only reasons they aren't as widely used as Enforcers or the B1s is due to each unit being nearly prohibitively expensive to manufacture for a unit that size and the fact that using them in combat drains money like nothing else, in addition to becoming a major logistical issue.) [This is pretty much the one unit I came up with myself, for possible use in my novels. Even then, the design I once drew for them takes some inspiration from the B2, although its design is primarily based off of what an armor-clad Crusader of old would look like. These would likely be the MOST overpowered item in my arsenal, as they're quite literally a walking, robotic Crusader WITH BELT-FED CHAIN-GUNS FOR ARMS. Keep in mind these were the first foray into mass-produced automated forces for the group, designed to be able to beat regular soldiers with a 1:1 ratio at the very least. I would LOVE for this to become a thing, even if it would practically slaughter ANYTHING set in its path. The only concerns I have, though, are creating the sprites for it, the fact players would likely say "WHO THE F*** MADE THIS THING? IT'S TOO OP, NERF NOW AND FIRE WHOEVER DESIGNED IT FOR TRYING TO GRIEF.", and that it's not really balanced, which sort of was the point of it. After all, why would you make an automated unit, then attempt to balance it so the enemy can have a fair chance in destroying it? That's not how warfare works]
