This is probably an absolutely terrible idea, but if there's some random subject you feel like venting or talking about, be it idiotic failure of some sort in a game, or something in real life, post it here, I guess. I'm likely to leave my thoughts on various subjects from time to time, and may go back to reflect on them.
I encourage discussing ideas, especially if they're your own thoughts on anything already posted. Just like how a forum is supposed to work.
Anyway, I've gone on long enough. Go with this however you'd like to. Have fun!

America can be stupid sometimes, and it can be really obvious, as well.
We're still in a recession, the national debt has nearly doubled and is increasing by $1 trillion each year, most of the debt is held by China, industries are shutting down and/or outsourcing, and it's not improving. Despite this, we expect our companies to accept new insurance plans or be penalized, spend more on making sure we don't impact the environment, and a multitude of other items. I know this may sound like I'm a evil person who doesn't care about the environment or people, but I'm appalled by the stagnation of improvement.
Let me try to explain the environmental issue this way: We spend billions on reducing ecological impact, and we still blame our industries for global warming. Which nation is our primary industrial competitor? The People's Republic of China, the largest holder of our debt. How much does their government spend on ecological impact? Nothing at all. The U.S. is nowhere close to being the largest ecological offender, since we've already drastically lowered emissions, while China does nothing, so our efforts aren't actually doing anything overall, which is because of the industrial behemoth of the East. Overall, this is likely money that can be put to better use, such as towards encouraging growth in our own industries and also encouraging industries to return positions back to the States.
(Additional analysis coming soon, hopefully so it seems more analytical than containing bias)

People need to start keeping those who can change things updated. If you want or need something, fucking SAY IT. Don't have me play a guessing game. If I ask for something try to do it as soon as you can. Don't put everyone else on hold because you aren't capable of holding the position you say you can. Shape up, or ship the fuck out. It's that simple.

This isn't exactly venting, but apparently, "Fuck" and "FUCK" (With no punctuation marks) in English actually translates to "Fuck" in German (Ficken). Meanwhile "Fuck!", "FUCK!", or "Fuck" ending with punctuation in English translates to "Shit" in German (Scheiße). I don't know why...
EDIT: I think this is the most "fucks" I've ever given in such a short period of time/space.

Michael Brown...The African American/Black man who was shot by a police officer. You get all sides of the story, like the officer(forgot his name) was apperently being attacked by Mr.Brown, so he shot him. Apperently Mr.Brown was shot 6 times which was very unnessacary, but everybody panics sometimes....
Many fucking people use that whole "Michael Brown shot by Cop" thing as an excuse to go do crimes such as stealing TV's, murduring, etc. How in the hell is stealing a TV going to solve any shit?
How many times has a white person been killed by a black person? Lots. But apperently somebody white. Shoots a black person, causing riots n shit
(Sorry if I offended any of you :/)

Seriously though, doing crimes to get "justice" and rioting like that is only you using a legitimate case to better YOUR life. I'm sure looting innocent stores, some of which probably feel the same way you do about the case, solves nothing. It just proves how volatile and ready-to-jump at the next big thing you are. Get a fucking grip.

This is likely a result of the software or something, but Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (EaW's expansion) is absolutely stupid. Not everything, actually, but rather one specific thing. Mods are a major pain to try to install, based on my experience with the one mod I tried to install, and that was the original reason I tried to install Forces of Corruption to begin with. The mod in question is Republic at War, a total conversion mod that changes the game's setting to the Clone Wars. I have to run FoC and EaW using a wrapper created by Wineskin (With Wine being one of the most popular ways to emulate Windows on Mac/Linux), and as a result, I more or less have to partially manually install all the files for whatever game I want to run, followed by then running the setup file to actually install the game in the wrapper's C:\ drive (Which in reality is actually only a folder within the wrapper) in the Programs folder.
However, sometimes the stuff decides to be stupid, like deciding not to recognize that the base game exists, which happened the first time I tried to install FoC for a direct play copy of Empire at War. This forced me to have to download a completely separate copy of Empire at War (This time requiring me to actually install the damned thing with the setup file). However, that time, the base game wouldn't start up, and since practically no one on the site used Wine or other emulator, I had to figure it out myself, although a reply from the user who uploaded EaW helped me to figure out the problem, or so I thought. The game went to the first start-up screen (Displaying the game name, rating, and copyright stuff, and then the wrapper closed. I eventually managed to get it to run properly (Don't remember how), and another day or two later, if I recall correctly (I think it may have been the same night), I managed to get FoC working as well.
Now that I finished my rant at what I suppose at least partially is my inability to manipulate files and folders for a game so that the game executable can fully launch, I want to return to what I intended to be my main focus of this post: Republic at War/installing mods for EaW/FoC. I don't know where exactly I should direct my rage in this case, but I'm going ahead regardless. About 1-2 days after successfully setting up FoC, delighting in the amount of Expanded Universe items are present while playing a few skirmish matches (Such as the Dark Troopers/Arc Hammer, an upgraded, lighter version of the turbo tank, officially known as the Juggernaut if I'm correct, from the films/Expanded Universe content set in the Clone Wars, Venator battleships, Admiral Thrawn, Kyle Katarn, etc.), and a Galactic Conquest (Somewhat difficult to explain, or rather, the main gameplay being difficult to explain, especially if you take into account the fact that Skirmish games are the classic RTS style we're familiar with.) as the more or less non-canon, OP faction included in the expansion, the Zann Consortium, AKA: what happens when you take the non-playable (unless you have certain mods allowing you to, which I have yet to locate) Black Sun Pirate faction from the first game (More or less a mid-level to lower-tier major threat to your forces until you acquire tech level 2-3 of 5, with 5 only unlocking the Death Star for the Empire to my knowledge. Since tech 4 tends to be researched about one-third to halfway through a Galactic Conquest game, and it unlocks Capital ships such as Star Destroyers, and tech 3 gives heavy frigates, both of which can take down Pirate space stations with only a few of either one, the pirates tend not to be that much of a threat by that point. They also never actually go on the offensive, instead remaining idle at whatever planets they start with.), remove the forces they originally had except the frigate, upgrade the frigate, give every ship above corvettes (Used for anti fighter/bomber duty and don't have individual weapon/shield/engine/whatever hardpoints) mass driver armaments (Able to bypass any shields) or a weapon with the same effect, make every unit available at Tech 2 (Including capital ships, which usually are only able to be created at Tech 4 at maximum level space stations on specific planets, and since each faction happens to start with a level 5 space station, the highest possible, on the largest Galactic Conquest map...), make their units stronger than the equivalent Rebel/Imperial units, allow them to create units that can spread corruption (Allows for a variety of effects to occur depending on what the mission was, from upgrading units to accessing a planetary black market to upgrade your units or allow you to build enemy spacecraft, such as light frigates/corvettes and artillery, to corrupting the militia, so that when the corruption is removed, the planet revolts, causing the space station and all buildings to be destroyed, and all forces to leave the planet. It also increases how much income you generate and allows you to freely move your forces through enemy territory.), giving several heroes the ability to bribe enemy units (Except if they're either droids or heroes, so you can't bribe Darth Vader, Han Solo, the Emperor, or Dark Troopers. However, you CAN bribe AT-AT's, meaning that you also get infinite stormtroopers.) provided you can afford it, make them able to upgrade their units, meaning they can defeat units they're supposed to be weak against, make their top-tier armor unit (The Empire has AT-AT's, and the Rebels have T4B tanks, which look remarkably similar to the Mammoth Tanks from the Command and Conquer series...) able to defeat an AT-AT in 1 on 1 combat while being able to deploy 3 of them to every AT-AT the Empire can deploy in a land battle, make their resource production building (A Consortium Palace, compared to Imperial/Rebel mines) gather credits more efficiently than their opponents' counterparts, while also allowing them to build Defilers (The unit able to sread corruption), placing shields on all their buildings (The other factions don't get shields for each building), and a few other things I may have missed. Oh, and the downside to playing the Consortium is that the unit costs are the highest of the three factions, but once you start building Palaces and Defilers... I think you get my point overall. I discovered just how overpowered they were last night when I was playing the largest GC map, this time as the Empire. I decided to attack a Consortium station with 6 heavy frigates and 2 corvettes, which by all accounts SHOULD have been sufficient to take out the level 2 station. I happily went off to fight, only to discover all my fighters were being slaughtered by Rebel artillery craft. I ended up having to stage a retreat. However, THAT is another story entirely. What I MEANT to talk about is that a day or two prior to my foray into the Imperial side of that conquest, I downloaded the Republic at War mod and attempted to install it. First download was the auto-installer, which when I tried to initialize, began the installer, much like I expected, then proceeded to state it encountered an error and needed to close, giving me a list I didn't have time to try understanding when I looked at the details of the error. After I tried that several times, I gave up on it, then checked the minimal download instead. The description made note of the fact that the minimal download was for more advanced users, but also that it was not only to perform a direct install, but also for Linux users. Since Linux and Mac both run on Unix, and the other download was being an ass, I decided to install this one. I installed, moved everything to the Forces of Corruption folder, then proceeded to try to launch the mod. First it stated FoC wasn't found, so I moved the mod launcher to the root folder of the game. After some additional testing with the launcher's built-in check for the files and some moving/copying of some of the base expansion's files to prevent deletion, it finally stated that the XML files would break compatibility for multiplayer. I accepted the option to clean the XML's when I was prompted, then it stated the XML's weren't found, or something of the sort. However, it stated it was okay to run. When I did, I was greeted by the familiar black screen of the wrapper before the first screen of the game launched. However, the wrapper closed before it could get to the next screen. Dismayed, I thought that I should attempt to launch the expansion instead, just in case. When I did, the screen for the base game showed up. To make a long story short, I can't get the damn thing to run, and I have no clue why. The only links I found regarding how to install the mod were for the Steam version of the Gold Pack (Includes the base and expansion). I'm nearing the point where I'm going to give up on the mod to try tot get the other Clone Wars-based conversion mod "Star Wars: Clone Wars" and see if I can get that one to run. I have yet to successfully install a mod, with either game. The last one I tried, about 2-3 years ago, was the "A Galaxy Divided" mod for the base game, and I couldn't install it, and this was on a computer that was actually running Windows. However, my point is that mods are from hell, at least if you're trying to install them. It seems that many of my pursuits end up almost finally getting to work, but turn out to fail, much like my latest attempt to start SS13 on the very same computer I have EaW on, being able to launch our server from the Hub, only for it to actually not start up. Bullshit.

People need to act like fucking adults and fire chiefs instead of sixteen-year-olds. It doesn't matter who the fuck your friends are, a firefighter is still a firefighter.
And if you can't find it in you to learn how to act your goddamned age and learn how to lead--get out. Get out of the fire service now. We don't fucking need you in it. If you can't function as a firefighter and you can't lead, teach, or do anything else in the fire service worth a rat's ass, then sorry bud, your time is now. You just became a detriment to the service.

Do you know what's absolute garbage? Mod launchers that don't actually do a damn thing. That enormous rant about Republic at War? It turns out that after managing to successfully install the related mod (Which, when I updated to the second-latest version because the first one more or less was awful in my opinion, I accidentally overwrote the base data files for Forces of Corruption, requiring me to have to transfer the original download for FoC via a flash drive), I decided to retry installing Republic at War, only this time replacing the base expansion's game files with the ones in the mod's folder. I launched the executable for Forces of Corruption, hoping for the best. It started up, and I was greeted with the mod's opening screen, much to my delight. However, I skipped the intros due to pressing the spacebar. The main menu loaded up, after a while, and the space battle always present in the menu was actually with Clone Wars units.
Basically, I finally got the one mod I spent several weeks trying to get (Including acquiring the expansion), and it turns out both the auto-installer and mod launcher were both absolute rubbish in my case. I may make a more in-depth review of the mod later, but overall, it's very good. It seems the AI (At least in the campaign) seems to have been made far more challenging, to the point where some stated the enemy is relentless, even on Easy difficulty. Also, there's no game-breaking Zann-Consortium or an equivalent faction, only the Confederacy and the Republic. Now if only I can stop playing it long enough to try to properly set up BYOND...

I hate to monopolize this thread, which is something I didn't really intend to happen when I first created it, but I guess it's temporarily turning out like this.
BYOND is Satan.
I want to point out that despite my enormous, tangent-filled rant over installing "Star Wars: Empire at War", its expansion "Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption", and finally (and the actual main focus of my rage) the total conversion mod for FoC, "Star Wars: Republic at War", my overall claim was that installing the mod was a pain and that the mod launcher was total garbage. My descriptions of that and BYOND are unable to be compared.
Not only that, BYOND also revels in my pain and insanity. I FINALLY manage to get SS13 to run, and once it opens, it turns out one major thing is missing. Something that is arguably the most important part of SS13. I went absolutely berserk over OOC, right after my triumphant cheers that I finally did the impossible. When I tried to fix the missing part, I end up making BYOND unable to start up in the emulator, and so I had to set up the virtual drive again. It didn't work again, and it didn't work the next time, either. I am right back where I started 1 week ago. Not even the Linux version of BYOND wants to compile itself (Which is seemingly Wine's fault, but I really don't care at this point). In fact, the same issue occurred when I tried to run Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, which managed to install and run (At one point at least, if I recall correctly), surprisingly, but for whatever reason refuses to properly display the game screen, instead mocking me by running, but giving me a black screen. This is completely stupid.
